“le tre partizioni dell’essere vivo: quello che hai, ciò che sei e quel che appari” E’ racchiuso in queste parole il significato del terzo lavoro degli Altare Thotemico, una band capitanata da Gianni Venturi (voce e poesie) che ha fatto della sperimentazione la sua bandiera. Un disco che, ancora una volta, tende al superamento della ‘catalogazione di genere’ ma che strizza involontariamente l’occhio alle sonorità metal (Filippo Lambertucci alla batteria) nel prepotente brano di apertura ‘Non in mio nome’; ai canoni della vecchia scuola del bel rock made in USA (Triumh), complice la voce cristallina di Marika Pontegavelli (piano e voce) che accompagna il front man e che ricorda da vicino Tarja Turunen (ex Nightwish); ai giri di bassi di Giorgio Santisi che fanno capolino più o meno prepotentemente, come nella splendida e commovente Schopenauer, scaldata dalle magiche corde di Agostino Raimo (chitarre). Gli Altare Thotemico (N.d.R.: anche il logo del gruppo e le copertine sono assolutamente degne di nota) strizzano l’occhio anche alla scuola italiana degli Area, già dal loro primo lavoro : ‘Altare Thotemico’ (2009, etichetta Ma.Ra.Cash). Una sperimentazione ed una ricerca dei dettagli che avvicina sempre più la band alla scuola anglosassone degli IQ, accompagnata da testi rigorosamente italiani che sono veri e propri pugni nello stomaco e che rendono più che mai felice la nostra amata musa Euterpe.
